MLP: Friendship is Witchcraft

I’ve seen bits and pieces of the new incarnation of My Little Pony. The cartoon series is called Friendship is Magic.

Cute rainbow ponies, sure, whatever.
Then the spoof, Friendship is Witchcraft happened, and suddenly this darling little series isn’t so innocent.

Leave it to the internet to take something that’s way off my radar and retool it into something fantastic.

What do you think?

Real Life Horror: Devil’s Breath

Scopolamine comes from Columbia. Known on the street as Devil’s Breath, this drug literally grows on trees. According to this Vice documentary, the merest whiff of this stuff causes you to become a living zombie, seemingly coherent but highly suggestible. It can be slipped in your drink, blown in your face, or spread by skin contact. Victims empty their own bank accounts and hand over the cash without the criminals having to do a thing.

Vice went to Columbia with the intention of experimenting with the drug themselves. In the end they were handling the stuff with rubber gloves and face masks, and were glad to be getting the hell out of there. Truly frightening stuff.

Beyonce And the Illuminati

Guys, I think I’m in the weird part of the internet again.

May I present: Beyonce – Single Ladies (Reversed With Illuminati message)

I honestly can’t tell if this is meant as farce or if this video’s creator believes every crazy-ass bit. What I can say is that watching Beyonce do a jerky, backwards chicken dance is WAY better than the original.

(PS – Yes, I know that “Beyonce” has a little accent on the E. However, two things:
1. I’m too lazy to find the character map right now and
2. This way you can pronounce it Be-YONCE in your head, which is way more fun. You’re welcome.)

Late-Night Horror Hosts

Elvira. Vampira. Zacherley.

Horror hosts introduced cheesy horror movies on tv. They’d have their own schtick, their own characters. They’d pop up at commercial breaks, to lighten the mood and provide a little comic relief.

Growing up in Canada, we didn’t have late-night movie hosts. Not in my area, anyway. But even then, somehow these characters worked their way into my life. I knew them even if I’d never seen them “live”. One night, a few years ago, I finally managed to catch one of these campy, low-budget cable access horror shows. I stayed up until something like five a.m., just to see every last bit.

Then tonight, I found American Scary, and now I get to participate in a horror institution, even if it’s only vicariously.
